Hey gang,

I got yelled at today for taking a photo. Not shouted at, because the people doing the yelling were behind glass—it was more of an angry shewing away.

I don’t understand how we can live in a time where people are constantly taking photos—everywhere with their phans (phones). But when a guy razes a camera to his face all the sudden things get serious.

The funny thing about it was that I’d been taking photos all day, photos of people right in front of their faces. But the moment I picked up my camera to catch the most generic photo of the day—I got busted.

I was embarrased at first, but then I shrugged it off. I have every right to photograph that moment. It’s my goal to put aside my ego and try to act by my own intuition despite what people around me might think.

Anyway, this is me venting. But there’s a lesson here. One of my favorite author’s, Tim Ferris, carries a coin in his pocket that says “momento mori.” meaning “remember that you will die”.

Keeping that in mind is helpful to me. It gives me a shot of bravery, to sep out of my comfort zone and do something I normally don’t do.

Remember that everyone will die.

Do what matters to you, do it unashamedly, be brave, don’t wait for the perfect timing, don’t worry about what others might think. Believe in yourself and your intuition.

Do it now, because some day you will die.
